EmusBMS

EMUS BMS Integration cases

Applications range from electric vehicles, industrial applications to energy storage.

Case examples with EMUS BMS supplied to OEMs

  • One of the latest and complex EMUS project’s started in 2020. It is an integration of high voltage BMS system for the electric bus (2x55kWh battery packs) for the Asian fully electric bus manufacturer (OEM). Tier 1 supplier demanded custom made battery management system which has automotive grade components, expandable CAN bus line architecture, fast charging functionality using two chargers, each for
separate battery pack. Parties involved into the project acknowledged EMUS proprietary SOC calculation algorithms based on Open Circuit Voltage model (OCV) as a leading industry standards, providing highest accuracy and reliability.
It was challenging to make integration support during COVID-19 pandemic with travelling restrictions, however EMUS engineering team managed to make all support using online communication tools.
EMUS customers can be sure, that they’ll be provided with the highest quality BMS systems, designed using latest technologies and components, as well get full support during integration ant testing phase!

  • In 2021 EMUS is proud to be involved as a Tier 2 battery management systems provider for the South Korean special equipped vehicle manufacturer to build Li-Ion cells powered refrigerating containers for the food delivery trucks.
Tier 1 supplier requested for a reliable BMS system with CAN communication, which can support minimum battery pack’s charging ranges from 150V up to 250V. With EMUS Centralized CCGM system implemented, battery pack has flexibility to be charged by all main charging stations in the country and abroad.
EMUS developed proprietary SOC/SOH advanced algorithms based on current and voltage counting, early warnings and protections software allow safe, efficient battery cells operation and low maintenance cost.

  • Company from Norway (est. in 2012) is a manufacturer of light electric vehicle that uses EMUS BMS. It was designed specifically for delivery service. With the range of a full charge, it can keep going for 4-10 hours, or 40-100 km, depending on the battery capacity, enough to complete most delivery routes without recharging.

For energy storage

Numerous companies have successfully used Emus BMS to develop industrial and domestic solar or wind energy storage systems,  using Victron or SMA Sunny Island inverters. More inverters models integrations are planned on EMUS R&D roadmap.
For ESS applications customers mostly use EMUS Distributed Grouped topology which allows modularity and widest in the market passive balancing (per single cell) range: 700mA, 1500mA, 3000mA, 6000mA. It doesn’t matter the ESS architecture (cells arrangement), integrator can be sure, that with EMUS BMS he will be able to fulfill his most ambitious ideas and build efficient ESS system!
